Skerries Coast Guard volunteers undertook a training session with the Irish Coast Guard rescue helicopter on Sunday morning. Weather on the morning started wet, but rapidly improved with conditions on site becoming dry with clear visability. The training session involved preparing a landing site at Red Island, Skerries. The Skerries Coast Guard team onsite conducted embarkation drills, and took part in a familiarisation flight along the coast to the Skerries Coast Guard team’s Northern SAR boundary of Laytown.
